Lori Otey and Marty Szudarski, the Two Beekeepers, have been looking for ways to enjoy the activities of rural life in the city. Beekeeping is one activity that does not take a lot of room and can actually thrive in an urban setting. This is one of the reasons that Lori and Marty were drawn to it.
They started researching beekeeping in 2010 and began reading about it in 2011. Beekeeping, honey production, and specialized foraging classes followed. Thoroughly hooked on beekeeping, the Two Beekeepers are moving forward with their aspirations to keep bees and eventually sell honey and honeybee related products.
